what they are saying
“Nothing we have done in my time here has had as much impact or been as far reaching as our SEVENS trip, and this is not an exaggeration.”-Trevor Cox, Youth MinisterEast Point Church of Christ in Wichita, KS “…I am reminded that God loves all people and calls us to do the same…My teens along with my adult sponsors have a new passion and energy and even calling to go home and impact and change the world around them. I cannot wait to see how God will use each of us in changing the world and expanding His kingdom. God is so good!”-Jason Brown, Youth MinisterLegacy Church of Christ in Ft. Worth, TX“Benny gave me a view of the life I could be in but for the grace of God…This trip has helped me and those I came with, to see the world through love.”-John WestYouth Deacon from Texas“The mission trips I have been on in the past have been non-stop VBS, building a home, or tearing one down, so I was disappointed early in the week that I didn’t have anything physical to show for my time spent in Colorado. My mission this week has not been a physical thing, rather a change of mindset that I hope to carry with me throughout life. SEVENS is not about community service, it’s about changing someone’s life to become a missionary for God by showing love to ALL of God’s children. This week has changed me.”-Margaret BallYouth Sponsor from Texas“This week I enjoyed getting the chance to find where I personally stand in my relationship with Christ. I have a home, 3 meals a day, and way too many clothes, but they [street friends] have shown me how much we relate on a deeper scale. We are all just people. We are all alike and we are all God’s children. This was by far the best mission trip I’ve been on and I cannot wait to go home and apply what I’ve learned to mine and others lives.”-ShannonTeen from Texas“Turf Tours”- These have been an amazing opportunity for people to see the underbelly of downtown life. The first place we took the people was literally 40 feet from where my wife and I often dine together with our children. 40 feet away was an area where dozens of homeless people sleep and call their home. I have walked past it many times and never knew. This happened multiple times on the tour as we saw the deepest, darkest areas where homeless people reside. It was an incredible opportunity to have another perspective on “real” life. I was thankful for the opportunity to bring so many people from my church to this meaningful tour." -Michael NoelPastor of The Journey Church
